Fastforward acquires distribution rights for Compost and Bin-it

June 1, 2007—Fastforward Software today announced it has acquired the distribution rights for Compost <http://www.fastforwardsw.com/products/compost/> and Bin-it <http://www.fastforwardsw.com/products/bin-it/> , the trash management utilities for Mac OS X, from Acutus Trading Ltd. Fastforward Managing Director Joshua Coventry said "Compost and Bin-it are excellent products and this deal will ensure they will get even better. This is great news for the existing users of both Compost and Bin-it."

Compost 1.8 is a preference pane and daemon that allows per-user limits on the maximum size and age of trash contents. It will incrementally purge files to meet those restrictions. Also included is a contextual menu plugin that allows immediate deletion and emptying of the trash on specific volumes, and a replacement for the stock trash Get Info window that actually provides useful information.

Bin-it 1.2.4 is a desktop trash can providing quick and easy access to the Mac OS X Trash. It includes a floating trash can on your desktop (instead of the Trash being hidden in the Dock), a Trash Level Display and many adjustable options for trash styles, size, opacity and more.
